This rare one-off item of film memorabilia is an iconic image of Jane Russell on a haystack. Under this is a card that is personally signed by this legendary actress who has added the words “Blessings Always”.
This image was a popular pin-up with servicemen during World War II with Russell one of Hollywood's leading sex symbols in the 1940s and 1950s.
The late Jane Russell (1921-2011) stared in her first film role in 1943 with The Outlaw.
She appeared in over 20 films throughout her career, staring along side some of the biggest names in Hollywood such as; Frank Sinatra, Groucho Marx, Robert Mitchum, Clark Gable and starred in the hit film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) opposite Marilyn Monroe for 20th Century Fox.
With measurements of 38D-24-36 and standing 5'7", Russell was more statuesque than most of her contemporaries.
Russell received thousands of quips from radio comedians, including Bob Hope, who once introduced her as "the two and only Jane Russell" and "Culture is the ability to describe Jane Russell without moving your hands".
Russell married three times and adopted three children and, in 1955, founded the World Adoption International Fund.
For her achievements in film, she received several accolades including having her hand and foot prints immortalized in the forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
This one-off item has been recently framed in a black surround, in its original inset mount and measures an impressive 37cm x 47cm.
Originally part of a private collection, it has been fully authenticated and is a highly collectable item of Jane Russell Memorabilia.
